Here is a super fun Despicable Me craft to do with your kiddos! I did this today with a little 5 year old boy that I babysat. He was so excited when I told him that we were going to make Minion finger puppets! He wanted to help with every step along the way. Please note that you’ll definitely have to help with the cutting for younger ages. We made three variations of the minion puppets, the options are endless to decorate your own! Have fun 🙂 Let me know in the comments if you made them.
Materials Needed:
-Yellow, Blue, Black Marker
-White and black piece of paper
-Glue stick (or tape)
-Scissors
The first step is to cut a piece of plain white paper 2″ x 2″ or however wide you need it to fit around your finger. Then color the top yellow for the minions body and blue for the pants.
Put a strip of glue on one edge of the paper and roll it like a toilet paper tube, hold it for 30 seconds.
Next, cut out two white circles for the eyes and glue them at the top of the body. Draw on the glasses and pupils with black sharpie. Then choose a mouth to draw on whether you want to make him smile, frown, or laugh!
Draw the Minion’s overall straps on with a pocket in the front. Then cut strips out of black paper to make the hair. It’s easiest if you don’t cut all the way to the bottom of all the hair instead of individual strips.
The next thing to make is the minions little arms. Cut a straight line with a little ball on the end. Color it yellow but black on the ends to resemble their black gloves/hands.
Glue them to the side of the body in any direction you want (waving, hugging, etc.) make sure you hold them on for at least 30 seconds!
Slip on your fingers and have fun playing! Once we were done making all three little minions, he wanted to bring them EVERYWHERE!
First they went to the pool…
Then they went skateboarding…
Then the minions wanted to go play on a monster truck….
and LASTLY the minions were so tired from their busy day, we had to make a tree for them to sleep under (LOL)

My kid is turning 3 and budget is only for a small indoor party. This a cute and thrifty craft that would not be too hard for small kids. Thanks I will definitely use for my kid’s party.
Yay i’m so glad, hope you have fun at your party! 🙂
